Top 5 cab service in INDIA

Top 5 cab service in INDIA

1. Uber: The Classiest Option

Despite what happened in Delhi, Uber cabs are  favourite. This is why:

  • Cheapest – Yes, it is! While the taxi wars are on between Uber and Ola, we the consumers get great discounts. Discounts so good that it makes Uber (mini) cheaper than an auto ride. Don’t believe me? Check out their promotions! For instance, download the Uber app and use the Uber promo code “tanvis42” (no inverted commas) and you’ll get your first ride free (up to Rs 600 Rs 300! May 25, 2015: Back to Rs 600! June 18: down to Rs 250.) That’s pretty awesome! March 4, 2015 update: Uber Go at Rs 7/km and Uber X at Rs 8/km — cheaper than autos! 35 kilometres in Rs 350 — unbelievable!)
  • Cleanest (and best condition vehicles) – Uber cabs are very, very clean and tidy. The cars are in very good condition (unlike Ola — which are usually scruffy and worn). And if the driver keeps the vehicle clean, for me it implies he cares about his job and what he’s doing. Automatic bonus points.
  • Coolest app – The app is simple and works well. There is an element of coolness associated with everything Uber does (the black colours, the clean cabs, the courteous drivers).
  • Safest – Despite Delhi, Uber gives me the most confidence if I were to travel alone as a female anywhere. Sure, I’d still be cautious, but Uber drivers are generally more courteous than other companies I’ve encountered.
  • Making payments can be PAYnfull – To use Uber, you have to have a PayTM wallet setup. You cannot use cash because of some RBI regulations with them being a foreign company with bank accounts in foreign lands, la, la, la. I’m bored. The thing is – PayTM is awesome! If you start using it, that is. I was reluctant to use PayTM for the longest time, but when I did, I fell in love with it! Especially for (airtel) mobile recharges. Why do I love it so? Because it works. It works in the quickest and simplest way possible. You have to try it to believe it.
  • Update March 1, 2015: Uber Go now at Rs 7/km and Uber X at Rs 8/km in Bangalore. Wow!!

2. Ola: (Sometimes) The Cheapest Option

  • Cheap – During Republic Day, Ola was running a promotion which made Ola cabs cheaper than Uber cabs. Unfortunately, that promotion is over. Nonetheless, if you sign up for Ola at http://www.ola.bz/b and use the promo code “H9N1BE” (no inverted commas) you will earn Rs 100 Rs 50. Not great, but not bad!
  • Almost as  cheap as an auto – I recently travelled 10 kilometers using an air-conditioned, pollution-free Ola cab today. It cost me Rs 155. I returned by auto, swallowing gallons of pollution, taking a slightly longer route (11 kilometers) and it cost me Rs 153. Do the math!
  • Rates for Ola Mini = Rs 100 for first 6 kms and after 6 kms Rs 10/km. Sedan= Rs 150 for first 8 kms and then Rs 13/km. Prime = Rs 200 for first 5 kms then Rs 18/km. (Rates are for Bangalore; Delhi & Mumbai rates differ).
  • Book an auto – Bangalore has changed. No longer do grumpy auto drivers tell you to go to hell when you ask them to go by meter. No, now they offer to go by meter without a moment’s hesitancy. Why? Because if they say Rs 200 for 2 kilometers, you tell them to go to hell. Of course, while pulling out your phone, opening your Ola/Uber app and booking a taxi or even an auto who will go by meter! Yep, this is real change my friend.
  • Easy to pay – Pay using your credit, cash, debit card, however, you want!
  • Crappy App – Yeah, the app SUCKS. Big time. Sure, it get’s the job done, but only after spewing thousand errors. You open the app and you get ‘error, error, error’, you find a cab and confirm it (this part works well), and then cab driver calls you for directions (he will never look at the GPS for directions!) and then you try ‘tracking the ride’ and you get ‘error, error, error’, ride ends and you get ‘error, error, error’ and then the next time you open the app you can see how much the last ride costs while giving feedback and dismissing all the accrued ‘errors, errors, errors.’
  • Dusty, worn-out taxis in general – yeah, the cabs are usually scruffy, dusty Indicas. Not well maintained at all.
  • Made in India – Before Uber achieves world domination, let’s give our Indian crappy app Ola a fighting chance. Call me nationalistic if you have to, but I’m voting for Ola. (I wish they’d kept the cabs a little cleaner though!)
  • Ola Auto – We’ve used it a couple of times. While the auto driver accepts the booking promptly, it’s often difficult to explain to him where you are (and it takes time for him to reach your destination). It’s often easier just to get into an empty auto that passes by you. Bonus: no haggling and pay by the meter!
  • Ola peak hours surcharge – While Uber also sometimes charges a surcharge, Ola does so without fail during peak hours. Want a cab in the morning or evening? Then be prepared to pay Rs 50 extra so that Ola can ‘make cabs available for you during peak hours.’ This is even if there are 10 cabs waiting idly outside your home. Ridiculousness.
  • May 25, 2015 Update: I had my first almost-accident with the most idiotic Ola driver possible last week. The driver drove on the wrong side of the road and drove straight into a lady on a scooter, missing her by an inch. The lady swerved and fell hard on the ground to avoid our idiotic cab. Luckily she was okay, but got up and screamed at the Ola driver and then screamed at me for ‘not telling my driver to drive carefully’. This guy had almost hit another scooterist when taking a u-turn right at the beginning of the journey, sent me flying over a speedbreaker mid-journey, and was a driving liking an idiot throughout. He clearly has had no training — and since I value my life and the life of others, I’ve sworn: Never again Ola!! (Wrote a complaint to Ola, they said sorry, we’ll take it up. But if the accident had been worse, what apology would they have given?)

3. Easy Cabs – So far so good

  • I’ve used Easy Cabs quite a few times to get to and fro from the airport and they’re usually quite dependable.
  • Not the cheapest though.
  • They’ve also bought Carzonrent.com so you can now self-drives in most major cities! Woah, that’s pretty cool!

4. Taxi (not) For Sure

  • I ordered a Taxi For Sure cab once in my life. And what happened? It didn’t show up!!!! Sorry, no second chances. Especially if your name is TAXI FOR SURE! (In any case, since Ola is buying Taxi for Sure, no point reviewing them here.)
  • Rs 49 for first 4 kms and then Rs 14/km for hatchback and Rs 16/km for Sedan.

5.Meru – Gone to the dog house (But Meru Genie is is magical!)

  • Meh, expensive and not worth it.
  • What can I say? Meru used to dominate the landscape, but something went wrong. Perhaps it was something in their radio taxi model? They’ve been crushed by Uber and Ola in my eyes. I generally only use Meru when I have an early morning pick up and need to book in advance. Otherwise, I refuse to pay the premium.
  • Update: Recently used Meru Genie and it was great! At Rs 10/km it is super affordable and gives competition to the likes of Ola. (Airport drop in Bangalore of a distance of 33 kms worked out to ~Rs 450 without tolls).

5 Things Americans Are Really Bad at

5 Things Americans Are Really Bad at

1) Americans Have Bad Rhythm

American pop music is pervasive and inescapable. No matter how sturdy your mental musical bomb shelter is, no matter how deeply you bury yourself within your cool underground music chamber, catchy pop tunes will always find a way to blow down the doors like a battering ram of manufactured hooks and vapid lyrics. And no matter the genre – country, hip-hop, pop, jazz, or rock – American pop music has deadened our ears, rendering us incapable of picking up on the larger spectrum of rhythms.
But babies, as it turns out, are a musical clean slate, and can detect irregular rhythms. Babies literally have more rhythm than fully-grown Americans.
Hannon and Sandra Trehub of the University of Toronto conducted two experiments. In the first, Americans and first and second generation Bulgarian and Macedonian immigrants were played music with simple meters and complex meters. The Americans couldn’t detect when the rhythms shifted from complex to simple, yet the immigrants were able to detect both because traditional Bulgarian and Macedonian music contain far more simple rhythms than American music.
In the second experiment, Hannon and Sandra ran the same test, but this time on babies, who are a musical clean slate and have no preconceived biases. If the babies looked at a monitor showing the rhythm changes in a song, it meant they were able to detect the change – and they did.
What this all means is that by producing and listening to rhythmically complex music, Americans are losing the ability to pick up on simple rhythms; thus we find it difficult to rock out to fat hairy Bulgarian guys looking bored by their own music…

2)  Americans Are Teribble Spellors Terrible Spellers

We may be the land of spelling bees on ESPN, but when it comes to spelling words that are commonly misspelled – words like “embarrassed,” “liaison,” and “millennium” – Americans are particularly awful, at least when compared to our friends across the pond in England.
The Spelling Society, which sounds like an educational version of the Justice League, is an organization that’s been around since 1908 and whose sole purpose is to simplify the English language and change any “unnecessary difficulties of English spelling.” So if you, like me, ever had to type the word “rhythm” a bunch of times and never spelled it correctly once because the word confuses your brain because it just looks like a bunch of goddamn continents, like someone slammed their face in to a keyboard, the Spelling Society is fighting for you.
Anyway, the Spelling Society conducted a survey of 2,000 adults — half were Americans and the other half Britons. Subjects were asked to spell a series of 10 commonly misspelt words. Americans didn’t fare so well. Sixty-two per cent of Americans got “embarrassed” wrong, compared to 54% of Britons. 52% of Americans couldn’t spell “millennium,” compared to 43% of Britons. “Accommodation” also proved to be a tricky word as 42% of Americans spelled it incorrectly to Brittan’s 36%. And “liaison” was a disaster for pretty much everybody, but of course, Americans failed harder – 61% of Americans spelled it incorrectly, compared to 54% of Britons.
In the grand scheme of things, this doesn’t mean much. These are words that people most commonly misspell, after all. So there’s a certain amount of failure built in to a study like this from the start. But Americans, as if it were our patriotic duty to be number one at all the wrong things, rose to the occasion and failed mightily, thus triumphing once again over our English overlords by losing to them.
Cue “America! F*ck Yeah!” and tell the Rockettes to stretch their hammies! We’ve got a victory party to throw!

3)  Americans Don’t Know Anything About The Constitution

If you based your view of Americans entirely off of 24-hour cable news shows, one might venture to guess that all Americans have sewed their favorite sections of the Constitution on to the back of their eye lids so that they can see the words “guns” and “freedom” every time they blink. In a 2010 poll, Americans ranked the Constitution just below science and technology on a list of things they “love.” Thankfully, the pollsters did not ask if Americans were willing to consummate their love with an over-200-years-old document.
Yet, according to a 2010 study conducted by The Center for the Constitution at James Madison’s Montpelier, 86% of Americans “believe that the Constitution is important to their daily lives” but only 28% have read the entire thing, and only 14% have read “most of it.” This is understandable seeing as the Constitution starts off strong with all that “We The People…” talk, but develops 3rdact issues with all that boring “no State, without its Consent, shall be deprived of its equal Suffrage in the Senate” crap.
This is especially surprising considering the U.S. Constitution is the shortest of any major country’s Constitution, roughly the equivalent of a 17-page novel.
Speaking of “We the people…” the opening line that very strongly suggests political power rests with average citizens, only 48% of Americans think power comes from The People; instead, most believe power stems from the people The People elect to public office. Apparently, Americans think democracy is like being the team captain for a dodgeball team, and after you pick your players, you go home and hope you didn’t accidentally pick the pale, un-athletic Goth kids.
Even more depressing are the findings of a study conducted by the McCormick Tribune Freedom Museum – 22% of Americans could name Homer, Marge, Lisa, Bart, and Maggie from The Simpsons from memory and only 1 in 1,000 could name all five freedoms granted by the First Amendment. If only the Constitution were a wacky cartoon character that got in to silly diplomatic hijinks every Sunday at 8.

4)  Americans Are Bad At Geography

To an outsider, America might seem like a country so up its own ass that if a major global event is going down that doesn’t involve us, we don’t care about it. This, as it turns out, is probably true.
According to a 2006 National Geographic study of Americans aged 18-24, 63% of those surveyed could not locate Iraq on a map of the Middle East, and on a map of Asia, 88% couldn’t find Afghanistan. You’d think after trillions of dollars and thousands of dead U.S. soldiers we would at least take a few minutes out of our lives to learn the physical location of the place we’re dumping all of our money and losing our children. Even sadder, these are 18-24 years olds – kids the same age as the ones doing the fighting. Snot-nosed little brats probably don’t even know how lucky they are.
Even more embarrassing, and almost equally as depressing, 67% couldn’t find Louisiana on a map of the U.S., even though the study was conducted a year after Hurricane Katrina dominated the news. And New York and Ohio? Forget it. Only 50% could find Ohio and an absurdly low 43% couldn’t find New York, which is understandable, seeing as New York is one of, if not the mostculturally rich and economically vital cities in the world. But hey, maybe all that importance has hyped New York up to mythological status, making it just as unbelievable as other fictional lands like Narnia and Middle Earth and, of course, Ohio.

5) 30% Of Americans Are Born As Naturally Bad Drivers

80% of Americans think they’re good drivers. 80% — that’s a weird number, because if you go out for a drive right now and conduct your own study, you’ll find that around 80% of the people driving around you are entirely unqualified to be driving. 80% is so large you have to assume at least 5% of that 80 is made up of people that have parked their cars in someone’s living room at some point and don’t even hold that fact against themselves. “Oh, that doesn’t count, for you see, I was extremely drunk on all three occasions.”
Steven Cramer, a neurology professor at the University of California Irvine, discovered a specific gene in human DNA that, strangely, was only apparent in people that rummage through their glove compartments while going 75 in a school zone…or perform similar acts of motorized stupidity.
Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) is a protein that is secreted into different areas of the brain depending on what task you are currently performing. The protein acts as an antenna that helps brain cells in that region communicate with each other. People that have the specific gene variation mentioned above don’t secrete BDNF as much as everyone else. These people are the fumbling idiots you meet on a daily basis; the ones that never seem to learn how to do anything properly and always as you what button they need to hit to make copies on the copy machine. “Christ, Ted! It’s the button that says ‘Copy’!”
Cramer gathered 29 people – 22 without the bad driving gene and 7 with it – and had them drive 15 laps on a closed course. Then they did it again 4 days later to see if they had retained any knowledge of the course. The long and short of it is, the people with the bad driving gene were driving like they were being attacked by spiders. They hit cones and never remembered what the next turn would so it always took them by surprise – if there had been a robot stuffed with meat that simulated the mother-pushing-a-baby-carriage-across-the-street scenario, after all the bad driving gene-havers were done that course would have looked like a freak gas main explosion at a pig farm.
The scariest part of it all? 30% of Americans are born with this gene variant. So the next time you’re rolling down the highway and you count 10 cars, including yourself, 3 of those cars are being driven by comically (and lethally) dangerous morons. And if you can only detect 2 of those morons, guess what? You’re the third, and seeing as you’re reading this as you’re driving, everyone here at Man Cave would like to say, from the bottom of our hearts, LOOK OUT FOR THAT BUS!!!

5 Ways to Get More Facebook Likes

5 Ways to Get More Facebook Likes

1. Ask for Them

It’s simple. It’s easy. It works.
One of the first things you should be doing is actually marketing your page. Take every opportunity to remind everyone who’s reading your content to like you. You’ll be surprised how many will.
Whenever you post, consider asking for likes. It may not always be strategic to do so. But often, it will be. You’ll have to make that call yourself, but the opportunity is certainly there, and the more engaging your post is the better chance you’ll have of turning your readers into fans.
Next, think about how you integrate your Facebook marketing with everything else. You probably run email, search, and other kinds of campaigns as well. You may have print collateral – for an event or something else. You could have actual product packaging.
Take a moment and think about fitting your Facebook strategy in. It may be as simple as putting a Facebook icon on a paper conference agenda. Make the public aware that you have a Facebook page. Encourage them to like it.
Asking for Likes
Start by simply asking.

2. Make Your Page Visible

Of course, you can’t forget that your prospective fans have to actually locate your page on Facebook first. There are more than a few ways to put yourself out there, but one you should absolutely take advantage of is simply fleshing out your About section.
You should absolutely talk about:
  • Your company
  • Your product
  • Your website
The point – in terms of visibility – is to get your content indexed by search engines. Naturally, you’ll also make a case for your visitors to like your page once they’ve already found it, so the return is twofold.
Don’t forget to fill all this out.

3. Socialize Your Emails

Email marketing still boasts the highest ROI, but it shouldn’t have to do all the work. Particularly when social-email integration works so well.
To start, take a common email you send out. It might be a weekly newsletter. In fact, it probably is. Just add social buttons to the bottom – Facebook, Twitter, and so on. You can take existing icons or create your own to reflect the aesthetic of your creative.
But consider advertising a bit more. Tell your subscribers what they’ll get out of liking your page. You may release product information early there, or hold contests, or even field customer service concerns. It can be short – just communicate one benefit of becoming a fan. It can also vary according to the kinds of posts you’re promoting that week on your page. Your specific campaigns will benefit more that way.
Take advantage of email’s high ROI to drive Facebook traffic and likes.

4. Like Box Your Website

Digital native or not, I’m sure you’ve seen a Facebook like box more than a few times.
You’ll see a “Find us on Facebook” header just above a box advertising your page, showing how many likes you have and which of your friends are among them.
Like boxes are very common. And there’s a good reason for it. They drive Facebook referral traffic, boost revenue, and, of course, get you more likes.
What’s more, they’re not hard to set up

5. Embed Your Facebook Posts on Your Blog

You can do more than just promote your page on your website. You can promote your individual posts too.
If you’re blogging about something – let’s say it’s how to moderate your Facebook page – and you’ve written a Facebook post on the subject, you should embed it in your blog article. It’s a relevant post, after all. One that your blog readers will be very interested in.
You’ll get all the same benefits of installing a like box, along with higher visibility for that particular Facebook post.
The process is similar, too. You can embed Facebook posts in your blog – or website – in more or less the same it takes to read this post.
Embed Facebook Post
Embed your Facebook posts directly on your website or blog.

The era of the like gate may be over, but likes are still there for the taking. You don’t even have to pay for it. Just return to the usual strategies – the ones that have worked all along – and stay abreast of industry news. It’s never very long until Facebook releases something else.
Tell us about your Facebook page. What’s your like strategy? Where do you get most of them from?

5 Simple Tricks to Wake Up with Glowing Skin

5 Simple Nighttime Tricks to Wake Up with Glowing Skin

Let's face it: Your morning skin-care routine can (and often does) turn into a race against the clock. So why not let your products do the heavy lifting for you while you sleep—instead of rushing through a complicated a.m. process? We asked Annie Chiu, M.D., a dermatologist based in Manhattan Beach, California, what her favorite skin-care tips are for achieving overnight radiance.
1. Use a One-Step Makeup Remover
Sleeping in cosmetics is a surefire way to clog your pores and boost free radicals, which speed up the aging process. To promote glowy, clean skin that is super-receptive to the products you apply in the morning, Chiu says to look for a two-in-one product. "Cleansers that remove makeup and clean the skin at the same time are great shortcuts to reduce beauty regimen time," she says. Try Olay 2-in-1 Daily Facial Cloths ($9.59) or Philosophy Purity Made Simple One Step Facial Cleanser ($23).
2. Exfoliate With Glycolic Acid
Sloughing off the top layer of dead skin cells gives you extra radiance, says Chiu. But exfoliating daily with conventional grainy exfoliators can be really harsh on skin, confusing the oil glands and actually making your face oilier. Instead, Chiu recommends trying glycolic acid, which is gentler. "Before big events, use a product like Exuviance Performance Peel($75,), which has a blend of glycolic, mandelic acid, and gluconolactone to plump up fine lines, give the skin radiance, and allow makeup to go on a smooth canvas the next day," she says.

3. Try A Night Oil
To get a boost of radiance overnight with just one drop of product, night oils may be your best friend. They penetrate into the skin better than other products, providing a great vehicle for active ingredients. Chiu recommends using a night oil a few times a week to give your complexion an extra boost. Try her favorite: Tata Harper's Beautifying Face Oil($48).
4. ...Or a Multitasking Face Cream
Love the luxurious feeling of slathering on a super-hydrating cream at night? To boost glow while you sleep, Chiu recommends applying a multitasking face cream that not only hydrates, but also exfoliates. She says to look for one that contails polyhydroxy acids like gluconolactone and lactobionic acids. Apply a thick layer before bed, and cleanse it off in the morning for a radiant finish. Chiu recommends NeoStrata Bionic Face Cream ($54,).

5. Put On a Sleep Mask
"Overnight masks are a great way to treat your skin and give it extra attention," says Chiu. "The skin undergoes more cellular repair during sleep and can be more receptive to products at this time." She recommends using an overnight mask a few times a week in lieu of going through your usual nighttime regimen. Simply cleanse, slather on a layer of the mask, and go to sleep. She recommends trying Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask ($25, ) because it contains avocado oil, which hydrates and provides a boost of antioxidants.

5 Ways to Lose Weight Without Dieting

5 Ways to Lose Weight Without Dieting

Lose Weight Without Dieting

Maybe your button-down shirts are starting to feel a little too snug or you’re stressing out about the imminent return of bathing suit season. Whatever your motivation, you’re convinced that it’s time to make a change — but the thought of overhauling your diet makes you cringe. While losing weight ultimately comes down to eating less and moving more, you don’t necessarily have to deprive yourself when it comes to the diet part. Follow these five tips and the only thing you’ll be missing is that muffin top.

1. Cheer up.

Anyone who’s ever dived into a pint of ice cream after a late night at work knows a rough day can ruin the best intentions to eat healthfully.  Now, a new study from the Journal of Consumer Psychology proves what many of us already suspected: Researchers found that people in good spirits were more apt to choose nutritious foods than those who were feeling down. “When we’re in a good mood, we tend to step back and see the big picture, so it’s easier to do something that’s in our long-term best interest,” says study co-authorMeryl Gardner, Ph.D., an associate professor of marketing at the University of Delaware. “Being in a bad mood triggers a focus on what’s going on right around you, which means seeking immediate gratification — so it becomes all ‘hello, doughnut!'”
Can’t convince yourself to see the sunny side of life at the moment? Gardner suggests gazing toward the future, and you don’t necessarily have to focus on a health goal. “In the supermarket, let your mind wander and think about what the store may look like in five years,” she says. “Or, as you’re considering what snack to have, think about what kind of junk foods may be the next big trend.” Looking ahead might help you put those immediate wants into perspective.

2. Slow your pace.

Nutrition experts have long advised against wolfing down your food, because the brain needs some time to process that “I’m full” message. If you’ve tried eating slowly but the contents of your plate still seem to disappear in a flash, you may need a little extra help. Enter the HAPIfork, a utensil that’s equipped with an electronic sensor. It measures how long it takes you to eat a meal and lights up and vibrates whenever you’re chowing down too quickly.

3. Nibble on filling fruits.

While this food group is healthy, it can still give you your sugar fix. Try snacking on lingonberries, Scandinavian berries, which are similar to cranberries and just might be the next “superfruit.” Recent research published in the Journal of Nutrition and Metabolismfound that eating lingonberries almost completely blocked the effects of a high-fat diet by preventing weight gain and keeping blood sugar levels down. Admittedly, there is a catch: The scientists made this discovery by studying mice, so it’s too early to definitively say if humans will reap the same benefits. But it is known that the berries are a healthy snack, thanks to their high content of polyphenols (a type of antioxidant). Try sprinkling a handful of frozen ones — you can order them online — into your cereal or smoothies. Or pick up some lingonberry juice at a local retailer.

4.  Text your progress.

Keeping a food diary is a tried-and-true weight loss technique, as recording every morsel forces you to be more conscious of what you’re putting into your mouth. But it can also be tedious, making it tough for people to stick with it. Replying to a quick daily text message, on the other hand, is much easier. In a study from Duke University, overweight women shed a few pounds by simply reporting (via text) some basic info, such as the number of steps they walked daily and whether or not they consumed fast food.
“Most people have difficulty sticking with detailed monitoring of how much they eat and how much they exercise,” says lead author Dori Steinberg, Ph.D. “We tried to keep the tracking via text messaging simple, which is likely why it was effective.” To make this work for you, ask a friend, family member or even your trainer to text you a daily question about your diet or exercise goals. “Having that accountability can be incredibly helpful,” says Steinberg.

5. Go to bed.

Numerous studies have found a connection between insufficient sleep and obesity, but a recent study from the University of Colorado, Boulder found that you could do serious damage to your waistline in just five nights. “People who had five-hour sleep opportunities per night across a simulated workweek gained nearly two pounds,” says study co-author Kenneth Wright, Ph.D., director of the University’s Sleep and Chronobiology Laboratory. Lack of shuteye can interfere with your metabolism and prompt you to eat more — especially mindlessly in the evening while watching TV or surfing the web. The takeaway: Make getting a good night’s rest a priority. “Sleep is as important for your health as a good diet and physical activity,” says Wright.

5 Top Ways to Impress a Girl

5 Best Ways to Impress a Girl

1. Be Your Natural, Confident Self

This might seem a bit passive but you have to approach impressing a girl in a manner that isn't revealing at all. Most women like the idea of being chased by men but realize that you are still an unknown entity to her and if you come on to her very strongly, she might push you back just for the sake of her safety. Further, if it is clearly visible that you are striving to impress her, she might interpret you as some sort of a player, for whom impressing girls is a regular affair. That is akin to neutralizing any sort of mystique or charm she would associate with you. Lastly, trying to be something you aren't is the biggest mistake you could commit. The aura of confidence that stems from honesty is unparalleled. Just remember one thing—you might impress her once or twice with a false projection but the truth will surface eventually and you will be short of excuses to cover yourself.

2. Be Suggestive Not Loud In Your Approach

Don’t try to be loud, as if you are screaming for attention. There might be some girls who like attention-grabbing men but overall, being able to magnetize attention towards yourself without seeming that you are trying too hard is best approach. Thus, when you are talking on the phone, be soft spoken but hold your phone is such a manner that its brand worthiness is clearly visible. Similarly, you might be driving a premium car but rather than shouting about it over the phone, let the branded keychain hang and announce itself in a subtle manner.

3. Use Your Eyes Like Tools

More than your entire demeanor, your eyes can engage a girl in a more efficient manner. Just be careful with your eye language. If she happens to look in your direction and you catch her gaze, don’t stare so hard that she feels vulnerable. If you want to look at her, don’t be brazen in your approach. Merely glance at her every now and then; making it seem as if she has caught your attention but you haven’t fallen for her yet and you are not some desperado. Try to shift your gaze to something that is more innocent than her cleavage, like her pretty feet or the anklet she is wearing. Girls often get impressed when men behave in a slightly coy manner and besides the obvious. Observing the lesser noticed parts of her is going to induce the feeling that you are slightly different from the crowd and think beyond the obvious perspective of sexuality.

4. Be Prepared to Impress a Girl

Don’t try to wear an ensemble that makes you look like a branded male mannequin on the move. Dress simple but yes impressively. Grooming includes everything from the manner in which you trim your beard or shave, frame of your spectacles, belt, shoes, watch and your posture. Yes, posture or the manner in which your carry yourself should ooze comfort which in turn gravitates towards inherent confidence. Wear clothes that you can carry with ease. Try to focus upon the simpler things like wearing trousers or jeans that aren't so tight that they make you uneasy.

5. Hold Your Own In Your Conversations

If you do get the opportunity to talk with her or around her, try not to compliment her too much or show desperation to be introduced to her.
